Former Chelsea left-back, Scott Minto has given his prediction for the Blues’ upcoming Premier League fixture against Newcastle United on Monday night.
The two sides will meet in the league for the second time this season, following a 4-1 Chelsea defeat in the reverse fixture at St. James’ Park earlier in the campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently 11th on the table, four points behind the Magpies, who are eighth, but Minto has gone with a rather bold 3-1 home win for his former team on Monday night.
“I wrote down lots of scorelines and threw them up in the air and close my eyes to pick this one. I have no idea what Chelsea side are going to come out. Even Newcastle are becoming inconsistent now as well,” Minto told talkSPORT.
“Maybe it’s the heart ruling the head here, I’m going to go 3-1 Chelsea.”
Interestingly, Minto isn’t the only pundit that has backed Chelsea for a win in the upcoming match. BBC pundit, Chris Sutton, and former Arsenal player, Paul Merson have also gone with a win for the Blues at Stamford Bridge, with both men predicting a 2-1 outcome.
