Jose Mourinho has declared he’s ready to get back to work as soon as the right opportunity comes along, as talks of a return to Chelsea continue to make rounds.

The former Chelsea manager has been out of work for close to two months now, after losing his position as AS Roma head coach.

Mourinho has also been linked with a potential return to Stamford Bridge, amid the ongoing struggles the club is going through under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues are 11th on the Premier League table after 26 matches, and recently lost the Carabao Cup to Liverpool, who beat them 1-0 in the final at Wembley.

While The Guardian claim that Pochettino’s job is safe for the time being, there’s no denying that the Argentine is walking a tight rope, and could lose it if results do not get any better in the near future.

Journalist, Felix Johnston has previously reported that Jose Mourinho would be open to the idea of returning to Chelsea, but that would very much depend on the current owners reaching out to him.

Mourinho was in Saudi Arabia for a sporting event just a while ago, and while speaking in an interview with Sky Sports F1, the 61-year-old revealed his plans for the future.

He said: “Roma was great because we did two European finals in two years and that’s hard in a club that never did it, but now I have to wait for the right opportunity. I want to work tomorrow if possible, but I don’t want to make the wrong decision.”

Mourinho enjoyed a relatively successful spell while with Roma— winning the Europa Conference League, and taking the Serie A club to the Europa League final before his departure.
