Report: Chelsea have already identified their next coach if Pochettino is sacked

Chelsea have reportedly lined up their next coach, if Mauricio Pochettino leaves any time soon.

The Blues hired Pochettino in the summer after parting ways with ex-Brighton boss, Graham Potter, who did not last an entire season.

Pochettino is well-respected as one of the most talented coaches in the world due to his ability to bring out the best in young players.

The Argentine has however found it difficult to immediately lift Chelsea from mid-table since he arrived at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are still 10th after 13 matches, with as much as 10 points now separating Chelsea from fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Reports have claimed that Chelsea owners are still backing Pochettino as the manager, but there are also those suggesting that this could change soon. And if that happens, Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri could come in to take over at Stamford Bridge, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Allegeri’s side haven’t done badly in the Serie A this season, as they are currently fighting for the league.

The 56-year-old has however refused to commit his long-term future to the Old Lady, which suggests he may be reconsidering his position at the club.

Chelsea will take on Brighton this Sunday, and for now, Pochettino will hope that his players would have moved on from last Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle, and they can put in a much-better performance when they come up against the Seagulls.

  1. I said earlier that Conte Antonio would have been the best for Chelsea. He knows chelsea culture but you chose a wrong person 4 the post. The Owners insisting on young players can’t make sense @ Chelsea. Thanks
