Frank Lampard has now lost all five games he has been in charge of Chelsea as interim manager.

Asked if he underestimated the task at Chelsea, Lampard said: “I don’t know. I don’t worry about what people on the outside think.

“I’m here for a reason. The challenge is, I didn’t have a bar of what the challenge was going to be, in a short time frame, it’s really hard to get that turn and you have to keep working. I took this on knowing what the jeopardy might be.

“I want to win games, let’s be clear. I can’t just say lads believe… maybe something goes in your favour. If it’s against Arsenal, or Bournemouth or Forest. In the short term, the players have to dig deep.”
