Player to leave Chelsea in the summer if Chelsea don’t qualify for Champions League

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, Chelsea forward Kai Havertz could push to leave the club in the summer if Chelsea don’t qualify for the Champions League next season.

The report claims Champions League football next season is crucial for Havertz, who joined the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 for £72million.

Chelsea are also reportedly open to allowing Havertz leave the club in the summer of an offer of €60million (£53million) is received.

Plettenberg tweeted: “Havertz: His future at Chelsea is uncertain! His departure in summer is possible. Decisive months could be May or June.

“Champions League next season is crucial for him. Price tag around €60m with possible bonus payments included.”
