Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at the Villa Park on Saturday evening. However, it’s a game Chelsea should have won.

The Blues were the better side for large spells of the game, but for all their fine play, conceded twice in the first-half.

Chelsea levelled the scores in the second-half through Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher, with Axel Disasi scoring a third in stoppage time that was chalked off by VAR.

Speaking after the game, Madueke insisted that the goal by Axel Disasi should have stood, and Chelsea should have beaten Aston Villa.

He said: “Should it have been three points? Yes. Do I think the goal should have stood? Yes. Nothing else to say about the situation.

“We need to play better at times in phases of the game. We have an abundance of quality and when we fire we’re a match for any team. The last game was terrible. For 70 minutes today the team were outstanding.

“It’s a process. I’m proud of the team today.

“We beat them here earlier in the season as well. We wanted to come here and win but it wasn’t to be.”
