Chelsea star booed off as fans call for Roman Abramovich to return

Chelsea fans were very vocal about their displeasure as they watched their team go down to another defeat this week.

The Blues were handed a 4-2 home loss by Wolves on Sunday afternoon, despite going ahead through Cole Palmer in the 19th minute.

Matheus Cunha was the hero for Gary O’Neil’s side, scoring three goals, including one from the penalty spot, as Wolves climbed above Chelsea to claim 10th place.

Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva were among those that had another terrible game for the men in Blue, with the two defenders directly playing a part in two of the goals the visitors scored — even though the Brazilian would later redeem himself with a late strike.

It’s the second time in just four days that Chelsea would suffer a loss in the Premier League. Chelsea were also beaten 4-1 by Liverpool on Wednesday.

The fans at Stamford Bridge were visibly irritated by what they saw against Wolves, and made it abundantly clear by booing the players off the pitch at half-timee. Raheem Sterling was also given the same treatment when he was subbed off in the 72nd minute, and as the game wore on, chants of Roman Abramovich could be heard around the stadium.

The Blues have another game on Wednesday— their FA Cup fourth-round replay with Aston Villa. And judging by recent results, the match is now a must-win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as the Argentine’s job may well be on the line if Chelsea get knocked out by Villa.
