Chelsea have had a very difficult season by many standards.

Not only are the Blues currently outside the top four, Chelsea have also suffered defeats that many of the club fans will not have imagined at the beginning of the campaign.

Aside from the abysmal record of eight losses from their opening 18 matches in the 2023-24 season, Chelsea have also lost the most number of games in this calendar year.

The latest defeat for Mauricio Pochettino’s men came on Sunday when the Blues succumbed to a 2-1 loss to a dangerous Wolves side despite their dominance on the ball.

The one thing that the fans can at least, smile about though, is the fact that we have seen some impressive individual records and statistics being achieved by some players in Pochettino’s squad.

According to Whoscored, the player that has recorded the highest pass success rate in the Premier League this season is none other than Thiago Silva.

The £110k-a-week defender has been great at the back per usual, and has also been wonderful with his distribution of the ball. His 94.8% pass success rate is the highest any player has managed in the division this season.

When you also think about the fact that Silva is 39, the stat becomes even more baffling.

The title was held last season by Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji, who managed a 93.3% pass success rate.
