Roy Hodgson has heaped praise on former Chelsea defender, Marc Guehi, ahead of Crystal Palace’s trip to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Blues will host Hodgson’s side in what will be their 19th Premier League game of the campaign, with hopes of taking all three points.

Guehi will be one of the players to watch in that game after reports emerged recently linking the defender with a potential return to Chelsea, following his departure from Stamford Bridge back in 2021.

Hodgson said of the 23-year-old, via cpfc.co.uk: “He’s a very, very good player.

“I don’t how Chelsea would feel about seeing him play now and having let him go, you’d have to ask them that question, but we like him very much. We think he’s outstanding player.

“We believe that with guys like him and [Joachim] Andersen, and guys like Eze and Olise, and with people like Edouard and Mateta and what they’re doing this year, there’s enough threat in our team to get us where we would like to be at the end of the season.”
