Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he doesn’t have much of a say in what happens at Chelsea when it comes to recruitments and player contracts.
Pochettino was quizzed about contract situation of Conor Gallagher during his pre-match press conference on Friday, but he had very little to say about it.
Asked why, the Blues boss told reporters: “Because there is nothing to win for me. What am I going to say? I am the head coach.
“My job is to coach the team and to pick the decisions for tomorrow, for the starting 11 and squad, and try to improve the players and try to win games. That is my job.”
On his relationship with Chelsea owners, the 52-year-old added: “My office is always open, and we have a very good relationship and dialogue. We are open to help in the way they think or believe we can help.”
Gallagher is out of contract with the Blues next year, despite having had his best season yet.
