Mauricio Pochettino recently revealed that he hasn’t been hearing from the Chelsea owners in two months now.

There are reports claiming that the Chelsea owners are contemplating sacking Mauricio Pochettino come end of the season to appoint Sporting coach Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim made a trip to London last week, and reports now claim that he was in London to speak to Chelsea about replacing Mauricio Pochettino.

The Sporting coach was spotted in London just days before his side were due to face Porto in the league.

Amorim was initially touted as the replacement for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, however the Reds are now settling for Feyenoord’s Arne Slot.

On Tuesday morning, Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda stoked claims that the trip by Amorim had actually been set up by Chelsea to meet with members of the club’s board to discuss succeeding the under-pressure Pochettino.

However, The Telegraph’s Matt Law is reporting that Chelsea are ‘absolutely adamant’ they did not pay for Amorim’s flight to London, and they did not hold any meetings or talks with the 39-year-old during his stay in London.

For Chelsea, they insist that the decision on a new manager will be made at the end of the season.
