Jamie Carragher has admitted that Chelsea will feel more confident, as they go into next weekend’s Carabao Cup final with Liverpool at Wembley, following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Raheem Sterling scored the opening goal of the game to put Chelsea 1-0 up in the first half, before Rodri grabbed a late equaliser to spare City’s blushes.
It was yet another impressive performance for Chelsea, who had won their last two games on the road, and despite not taking all three points against the reigning Premier League champions, former Liverpool defender, Carragher is adamant Chelsea will feel good about themselves as they now prepare to challenge Liverpool for the Carabao Cup, even though he believes the Reds will carry the day.
He told Sky Sports: “Chelsea had to take something from the game into the cup final. You had to build some belief.
“Playing away at Man City is a tougher game than playing Liverpool at Wembley. Liverpool’s injuries as well, I think it will be a tight game. I think Liverpool will just have the edge.”
