Depleted Chelsea show Tottenham who’s Pride of London

Chelsea recorded a 2-0 victory over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.

Chelsea were dominant in the first half, and the dominance paid of in the 24th minute when Trevoh Chalobah headed in the first goal for Chelsea.

Tottenham started the second-half with intensity, but Chelsea’s defence held resolute.

The victory was sealed in the 72nd minute, when a fierce Cole Palmer free-kick struck the woodwork. Nicolas showed great awareness and desire to head it into the net, as the ball came off the post.

What made the victory beautiful was the fact that Chelsea had a depleted squad. More than half of the Chelsea squad were out injured, and the bench was left with no experienced player, but rather youngsters from the academy.

Chelsea have moved to 8th in the league, and are there points behind Manchester United in 6th.
