Nono Madueke has told his Chelsea teammates that it’s not enough to make it to the Carabao Cup final, but they must now win the tournament having come this far.
The Blues secured a spot in the final of the EFL Cup with Liverpool after thrashing Middlesbrough 6-1 in the semi-final at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Madueke scored Chelsea’s sixth goal of the night, and later told the official Chelsea website: “It’s great, well deserved.
“Obviously, we came into the game a goal down but the approach from the boys was fantastic from start to finish. So to get a resounding win, come away with a 6-1 win, we’re happy.
“It’s massive, a great achievement. Getting to the final is nice, but we want to win it. That’s what we want, so we’ve got to do everything we can to win the final.”
The winger also said: “I’ve never played at Wembley before. It’ll be a first, I’m buzzing. Of course, you dream of doing it.
“I actually remember going to Wembley and watching Chelsea versus Tottenham. Didier Drogba scored that banger with his left foot and they won 5-1 that day.
“So it’ll be a good occasion and I’m looking forward to it.”
