Diego Moreira has confirmed the termination of his loan contract with Lyon.

The 19-year-old Chelsea winger was recalled to Stamford Bridge after spending just six months of an initial one year loan contract with the French club.

The reason for the termination of Moreira’s loan is yet to be disclosed, but some reports claim the Lyon wanted to free up a spot in their squad.

“Today is the end of my loan,” the Portugal U-21 international wrote on his social media account.

“Lyon fans, thank you for your welcome. I hope the players reach their goals in the second half of the season.”

Moreira is now expected to complete the season with Chelsea, having played for two different teams this season, following his involvement in the Carabao Cup back in August.
