ESPN pundit, Kieran Gibbs has praised Armando Broja for his display for Chelsea during Saturday’s FA Cup win against Preston North End.

Broja opened the scoring for the Blues 13 minutes into the second half after rising high to meet Malo Gusto’s powerful cross with his head.

Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, and Enzo Fernandez also scored to make it 4-0, and send Chelsea into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Broja’s strike was only his second for the Blues this season, but to be fair to the Albanian, he has had to play from the bench very often, even missing matches occasionally due to injuries.

The 22-year-old admitted he was relieved to finally get in on the goals after the game, and now, former Arsenal left-back, Gibbs has revealed he enjoyed watching him over the weekend.

Gibbs told ESPN FC: “I thought the big lad up front as well, he can be effective. I thought he took his goal really well. He stays between the posts, which is what you want from a striker, and I think he can be a real handful.

“He’s been out for a while, but I liked him today [Saturday], especially against a stubborn Preston team. He huffed and he puffed up there and it wasn’t easy for him against the back three, but I think he held his own.”
