Former Watford striker, Troy Deeney has claimed that Cole Palmer is one of the best players in England, and the whole world at just 21.
Palmer has been a shinning star for Chelsea since completing a £42m transfer from Manchester City last summer.
The Englishman has not just created goals for the Blues, he has also scored a decent amount of them, racking up a total of 15 goal contributions in 20 games across all competitions.
Palmer was recently ranked ahead of Declan Rice by the CIES’ Football Observatory statistical model, amid a fruitful season for the Blues, and now, Deeney has named him one of the best in the game at the moment.
The Forest Green Rovers boss told The Sun while discussing Palmer: “Not only is this guy one of the best in England right now, but I will expand that and say one of the best on the planet. He is that good.
“Punters said he made a mistake leaving his boyhood Manchester City in the summer in a shock £42.5million switch after winning it all at such a young age.
“But the young man has proven to be worth every penny of his price tag, and does not look fazed in the slightest.
“I am certain he is going to have another amazing year in a Chelsea shirt, with the Euros also on the horizon…”
