I am ready for Chelsea: Luton winger warns

Luton Town winger, Andros Townsend has declared himself ready and fit to face Chelsea this weekend.

Townsend joined the Hatters as a free agent over the summer, and has proven to be a key player for them so far this season.

The 32-year-old was rejected by Vincent Kompany’s Burnley after pre-season trials, but he insists he’s never felt better.

Luton Town will host Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, and Townsend has told Luton Today ahead of the match: “I’m in the best shape of my career, probably lacking match fitness but in terms of being ready for the next game, I’m in the best shape.

“Touch wood, I don’t feel fatigue or muscle tiredness as I did when I was in my prime, 28, 29, I feel absolutely amazing. So if the manager was to pick me, I knew I’d be able to go again and give the same physical output.”
