Chelsea have reportedly told Italian side Inter Milan the player that the Blues want in exchange for Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku and it’s not goalkeeper Andre Onana.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella is the only Inter player that Chelsea would be interested in bringing in as part of an exchange for Romelu Lukaku, but the Italians are reluctant to selling him.
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Inter for £97.5 million in 2021, but returned to the San Siro on loan year later after a turbulent campaign.
He scored 14 goals for Simone Inzaghi’s side last season, and the Nerazzurri are keen to keep him for another year.
Barella was a key player for Inzaghi last season. The Italy international scored nine goals across all competitions in 52 games as he won the Coppa Italia and reached the Champions League final.
