Chelsea have inquired about signing Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano said: “Chelsea have inquired on Spanish talent Gabri Veiga’s release clause; conditions, payment terms or chance to negotiate with Celta Vigo. No bid or concrete steps as of now.

“Liverpool did exactly the same earlier this week, he’s one of the players Liverpool are following.”

Meanwhile, according to journalist Rudy Galetti, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino asked Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo as a replacement for N’Golo Kante.

Kante is set to leave Chelsea as a free agent after seven years to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad this summer on a deal worth £86m a season.

Galetti told GiveMeSport: “Pochettino specifically asked for the Brighton player to strengthen the midfield and now with Kante’s farewell, Moises is becoming an urgency.”
