EXPLAINED: Why Frank Lampard appointment as interim manager makes sense

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard was announced as Chelsea manager until the end of the season on Thursday following the dismissal of Graham Potter.

Former Liverpool attacker Stan Collymore has explained why the appointment of Lampard as interim Chelsea boss makes sense.

Collymore told CaughtOffside: “Frank Lampard’s return to Chelsea is something I have seen coming for a long time. I have said previously that I expect him to take charge several times throughout his managerial career, and I was right.

“His appointment is one that makes sense too. Todd Boehly needed someone to come in and steady the ship and bring the ‘feel-good factor’ back to the Bridge, and Lampard does that.”

I wished that he has what it takes to keeping the job in his second stint. His tactical and technical know how is fible. Must work on them. Frank, has no plan “B” hence his team will always struggle, maybe he has learned and this is the time to prove it.. with all the travels.. Derby, Chelsea, Everton etc.. Wish him all the best..
