Premier League rival Liverpool have made Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount a top transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The England international is approaching the final year of his contract and there’s growing speculation over his future as we edge closer to the summer, and it seems clear he’s firmly in Liverpool’s sights.

“One of Liverpool’s main targets this summer will be Mason Mount for sure,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“Let’s see what happens with the future Chelsea coach, and if that could change the player’s situation… but Liverpool are following Mount’s situation and they appreciate him a lot.”

The 24-year-old has been at Chelsea since his childhood days. He has come through the ranks at the club and has become one of their most important players of late. Mount was promoted to the Blues’ first team after an impressive loan spell at Derby back in the 2018-19 season.

The England international has since featured in 192 matches for Chelsea and has 70 goal contributions. Mount played a key role in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in 2021.
