Only four Chelsea players had sent messages to Graham Potter by Monday night, 24 hours after he was sacked.

Potter was fired on Sunday night after less than seven months in charge, with the dismal 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa that left the Blues 11th in the Premier League table proving his last act.

Defender Ben Chilwell was the first on Monday night, posting an Instagram Story showing him hugging Potter and the message “Thank you gaffer” and a blue heart emoji.

Marc Cucurella posted a picture of himself and Potter speaking on the training ground and the words: “Thanks and best of luck in the future, gaffer!”

Armando Broja and Noni Madueke are the other Chelsea players to send farewell messages to Potter, 24 hours after he was sacked.

With just four Chelsea players publicly sending messages to Potter and the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria liking an Instagram post announcing his sack, it suggests much of the Chelsea squad aren’t too disappointed to see Potter go.
