Chelsea will need to double the opening offer for Malo Gusto if the Blues are to convince Lyon to sell the right-back this month, according to The Telegraph.
Chelsea submitted an offer of £17.6million for Gusto but Lyon are reportedly willing to sell if they receive an offer of £35million.
The Blues are keen on signing a right-back this month and Gusto has been identified as the ideal player to act as cover and competition for Reece James.
Chelsea’s opening offer of £17.6million for Gusto prompted Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas to declare the 19 year old right-back isn’t for sale this January.
However, it is believed Lyon will sell the 19 year old to Chelsea this January if they receive an offer of £35million.
Chelsea are not willing to pay over the odds for any signing.
