Chelsea have been in talks with Barcelona for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Chelsea had a first offer of £12.6m, which was turned down by Barcelona last week.

According to reports in Spain, the Blues have now submitted a new bid of £16.9m to Barcelona for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Thomas Tuchel is still keen for Chelsea to recruit a new striker before the end of the transfer window, and Aubameyang is top of the list for Chelsea.

However, Barcelona are still holding out for £25.3m for the 33-year-old.

Barcelona signed Aubameyang on a free transfer from Arsenal in February, and would want over £20m for his transfer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest update on this transfer.

He shared on Twitter: “Chelsea and Barcelona will be in contact again through intermediaries today in order to reach an agreement for Pierre Aubameyang. No deal in place yesterday.”
