Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has had to battle with injury for the past two seasons, and it has somehow curtailed his performance.

However, speaking ahead of the new season, Pulisic has said he’s feeling sharp and raring to go.

Pulisic said: “I think we’re still starting up our season, because it’s only our second game together.

“We’re still working on some things but I thought we had some good moments. They really surprised us and then with penalties, anything can happen.

“It was a big test. They looked like they were in season, in form and very fit. They played a good match. Charlotte really impressed me, and they have come a long way as a soccer city,” he added.

“I’m pleased of course [with his goal]. There are some moments where I feel I can be even better but I’m happy with the goal.

“I’m feeling sharp but I still have more levels to go to and I’m looking forward to continuing to grind and get better.”
