Thiago Silva drew a record-breaking crowd of over 55,000 fans during his presentation at Fluminense FC.
The football legend has become the first Brazilian player to attract such a large audience at his unveiling.
Thiago Silva expressed gratitude to Chelsea for allowing him to participate despite his contract running until June 30.
Silva, who will be playing alongside Marcelo at Fluminense, played 155 matches for Chelsea, scoring 9 goals and making 4 assists.
Thiago Silva said: “I would like to thank Chelsea Football Club for giving me the incredible opportunity to be here and wear this shirt again.
“As you all know, my contract with Chelsea runs until June 30 and they didn’t deny me the opportunity to be here for the unveiling tonight.”
