Chelsea forward Cole Palmer is set for a salary increment at Chelsea, despite just being a new signing.
According to reports, Chelsea are ready to hand Cole Palmer a bumper new contract, with the 21-year-old set to get a major salary increment.
The attacking midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer from Manchester City, and penned a deal until 2030.
However, the 21-year-old has been Chelsea’s best player this season, and has performed well beyond expectations, having cost the club £40m.
Palmer is currently on wages of £75,000-a-week, and isn’t among the top earners at the club.
From next season, Chelsea are ready to upgrade Palmer’s deal to €175,000-a-week to keep him happy. And it’s well deserved.
Palmer has also earned a call-up to the England national team.
Gareth Southgate told a press conference last week, as he spoke on the youngster’s inclusion: “You can see and have always been able to see the quality he has.
“The time we spent with the Under-21s last summer just watching the training sessions you could see what an outstanding technical finisher he was. Some players get chances and you expect them to score because their technique and feel for finishing is so strong, he has that.
“He’s shown great composure in some real pressure moments for his club.
“He’s adaptable. He can play two or three different positions, maybe more.
“He’s had an outstanding season and yet again is in on merit.”
