Mauricio Pochettino has disclosed that he had a meeting with Thiago Silva regarding the comments his wife made about Chelsea, following the 4-2 defeat to Wolves on Sunday.

Silva’s wife, Belle had posted on X in the aftermath of the Stamford Bridge loss: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late”.

Many were led to believe that the comments were in reference to Chelsea sacking Pochettino, especially as a result of it’s timing and tone.

The Chelsea boss was however asked about it during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, and he sort of acknowledged it might have actually been directed at him, although he went on to state that he and Silva met over the issue, and they remain on good terms.

“He [Thiago Silva] came today to talk with me [about social media post]. I’m not going to talk about the way we spoke,” Poch said, as quoted by the official Chelsea website.

“He came and wanted to talk with me. Of course, you know me, we are really strong coaching staff. We talked. That was private, that’s it.

“It’s good, very good [the relationship I have with him]. I think so. It’s always been good from the beginning.

“You can see my press conferences and interviews the way I always talk about him.”
