Mauricio Pochettino has warned Nicolas Jackson that there’s plenty to work on regarding his finishing, despite his hat-trick against Tottenham earlier in the week.

Jackson helped Chelsea to a 4-1 victory at Spurs, as the Blues moved to 10th on the Premier League table.

The striker netted three times towards the end of the game, but should have scored way more, and Pochettino has now warned him not to get carried away with his recent success.

“It’s easy to say: okay, scored three goals. It’s a process. He’s still young, needs to improve,” Pochettino told a press conference on Friday. “Okay scored three goals, but should have scored six.

“The most important is to keep calm and relaxed and he is going to improve with time.

“Nights like Monday help him not to be too much nervous and approach a game in a different way.”

Chelsea will face Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. The Blues have not scored a goal against Pep Guardiola’s men since 2021 when they beat them 1-0 to win the UEFA Champions League, and Pochettino and his boys will be eager to change that record.
