Chelsea could lose talented left-back if care isn’t taken

Chelsea face the possibility of losing Ian Maatsen to another club in the near future.

The young left-back has had to play from the bench for most of the ongoing campaign, enjoying just 83 minutes of football action.

Despite Ben Chilwell being injured, Mauricio Pochettino has preferred to play Levi Colwill at left-back, which doesn’t sit well with Maatsen.

The Dutchman is said to be reconsidering his future at Chelsea after turning down an offer to leave in the summer transfer window.

The Blues recently triggered the 12-month extension clause in Maatsen’s contract, meaning he is now tied to the club until 2025.

However, football.london claims the player could still leave if things don’t change any time soon.

Maatsen wants to play regularly, especially since he just recently broke into the Dutch senior national team.
