Chelsea’s hopes of signing World Cup winner with Argentina Paulo Dybala appears to be all but over.
According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Dybala is set to sign a new contract with Roma which will see him earn more with the Italians and also increase the release clause in his contract.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Dybala has agreed a new contract until June 2026 with an option to extend for a further year.
The Blues have been interested in signing Dybala this summer, with new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino known to be a big admirer of his Argentine countryman.
Dybala had a release clause of just €12million in his Roma contract for foreign clubs but that will now be increased after he signed a new contract with Roma.
Dybala signed for Roma on a free transfer last summer on a three-year deal until 2025.
Dybala was Roma’s star player in his first season, scoring 18 goals and delivering seven assists in all competitions from 29 starts.
