New club ready to battle Saudi Arabia for transfer of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku

A new club has now entered the race to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Lukaku is keen on returning to Inter Milan after spending last season on loan with the Italian side but Chelsea are only willing to sanction a permanent exit for Lukaku while Inter Milan want a loan deal.

The 30 year old Belgium striker also has an offer from Saudi’s Arabia after initially rejecting a first offer from the Middle East.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta, Italian side AC Milan have now joined the race to sign Lukaku from Chelsea after agreeing to sell Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United for €70million.

While Inter Milan want to sign Lukaku on loan for another season on terms more favourable to them, AC Milan are ready to sign sign the striker on a permanent deal.

The report adds that Chelsea are willing to accept €40million for the transfer of Lukaku which Inter Milan are not willing to pay but AC Milan are very willing to pay.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic retiring this summer, AC Milan are keen on signing a striker this summer to their attack that has heavily depended on a 36 year old Olivier Giroud.
