Chelsea star Mason Mount appeares to be on his way to Manchester United after agreeing personal terms with the club, according to The Telegraph.

Arsenal and Liverpool were also said to be interested in signing Mount who has just one year left on his Chelsea contract.

Manchester United is yet to agree a transfer fee with Chelsea for Mount but United manager Erik ten Hag is confident he can persuade the 24-year-old to join and is pushing the club’s hierarchy to get the deal over the line.

Mount, who is currently injured, appeared to say goodbye to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at the final day of the Premier League season.

The main hurdle to overcome will be agree a fee; United value Mount – who has just 12 months left on his contact – at around £55million while Chelsea price the England star at closer to £85m.

While there is a significant disparity between the clubs’ valuation, there is a willingness from both parties to negotiate.
