£98million Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku has been backed to succeed at Chelsea next season as long as he keeps fit.

Lukaku is currently on a season-long loan at Italian club Inter Milan after struggling at Chelsea last season.

The 29-year-old will now not be staying at Inter beyond the end of this season and is set to return to Chelsea. He has struggled with fitness issues this season at Inter Milan.

Despite scoring just three goals across 14 Serie A games this season, former striker Clinton Morrison has backed Lukaku to impress when he returns to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

“Romelu Lukaku has gone on loan and there is talk of him coming back,” Morrison told Sky Sports. “Can he be that focal point?

“If you’ve got Romelu Lukaku fit, with the players they have brought in who can go and create stuff, he should be able to score goals in that team.

“That’s one to watch. If they get Romelu Lukaku back, he will score goals in that Chelsea team for sure.”
