Chelsea centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly was back in training on Monday after missing Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against West Ham on Saturday due to illness.

Koulibaly’s return comes at an important time with Benoit Badiashile unavailable for Wednesday’s clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Badiashile has formed a solid partnership with Thiago Silva in defence but the Frenchman wasn’t registered to play for Chelsea in the Champions League.

Koulibaly’s return will likely see him compete with Trevoh Chalobah for a place in the Blues’ backline unless Potter opts to utilise three central defenders.

Wesley Fofana has continued his return to fitness by also training on Monday but the game against Borussia Dortmund might come too soon for the centre-back.

The 22-year-old French defender has not played for Chelsea since being injured against AC Milan in October.
