The Athletic claimed this week that Mason Mount had rejected a 7-year contract offer from the Blues with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2024.

The report claims Mount wants a shorter contract with wages reflecting his current status at the club. Mount is currently one of the lowest earners at Chelsea despite his importance to the club.

Mount has now revealed that he has ‘blocked out’ all the noise in the media about his future at Chelsea as he focuses on the World Cup with England.

“I have always been so focused on my football since I was in the academy,” Mount told the Evening Standard.

“I know now there is a lot more media focus on me, but I do not look too much into that. I block it out.”
