Thomas Tuchel has been sacked from his position as Chelsea manager, less than two years after his appointment.
The German boss guided Chelsea to their second Champions League trophy four months into his tenure as Chelsea manager.
Tuchel would later guide Chelsea to win the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup later that year.
Tuchel also reached the final of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last season, and won 60 of his 100 matches as Chelsea manager.
Interestingly, the German has now been sacked 7 games into the new season.
The sack was announced on Wednesday morning, the following morning after the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
According to The Sun, Tuchel reported for work at Chelsea’s Cobham training base earlier this morning but nobody was there to greet him.
Tuchel was quickly ushered into a conference call with the Chelsea board after which he was left ‘shocked’ about the decision to sack him.
The report claims Tuchel asked for time to turn things around, but the decision had already been made.
