Chelsea may have cruised to a 3-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge, but Enzo Maresca has revealed that he approached the game with more caution than most supporters might have expected.
Despite Wolves sitting bottom of the Premier League and arriving without a permanent manager, Maresca admitted before kick-off he had serious concerns about the fixture.
“I was very worried before this game. These are the worst games, they’re tricky,” Maresca said about the defensive-minded Wolves side.
“Everyone is thinking it’s going to be easy. I can understand first half people were not happy because we didn’t score.
“Then, when Estevao came on the energy raised because people love that kind of player.”
After a drab first-half, Chelsea took the bull by the horn in the second-half and ended up winning 3-0.
