Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim wasn’t in the mood to entertain questions about Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho during his press conference ahead of the clash between the two sides.
When a reporter tried to ask about the winger who left Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge this summer, Amorim cut him off quickly.
“Garnacho is not our player, I’m focused on our players,” shot back Ruben.
The Portuguese coach doubled down, reminding everyone that his concern lies only with the squad he currently manages.
“I’m really happy with our players who are returning. The rest, talk to the Chelsea manager.”
After struggling for minutes last season, Garnacho made the bold switch to Chelsea permanently, where he has been relishing a fresh start and playing with freedom. Blues fans see him as part of the club’s long-term rebuild, while United are watching to see how the young winger will turn out.
For Chelsea supporters, Amorim’s words will only add fuel to the excitement of seeing Garnacho in blue.
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has said that Garnacho will get a start against his former club.
“In the last two games, he was very good when he came on,” Maresca told reporters.
“So we are happy with the way he has adapted to our style and what we want from him.”
