Enzo Maresca has drawn a firm line under the futures of Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi at Chelsea, confirming that neither player will be part of his plans despite failing to secure moves away this summer.

Speaking to the media, Maresca made his position crystal clear: “They are Chelsea players and have contracts with the club but at this moment they are still training apart. Since the start of the season I haven’t seen them,” the head coach said.

The Italian was pressed further on whether there was any chance of Sterling or Disasi being reintegrated into the first-team squad. His response left no room for doubt:
“No.”

Sterling, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022, still has two years left on his contract. Meanwhile, Disasi, a signing from Monaco in 2023, is tied down for another four years.

This latest update suggests Chelsea will need to find a solution for both players either in the January transfer window or next summer. For now, however, Maresca has made it clear that his project at Stamford Bridge does not include them.
