New Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has spoken candidly about his first impressions after arriving at Stamford Bridge — and admitted there was one player he felt a little intimidated by: Cole Palmer.

Both Pedro and Palmer operate in similar attacking roles, and their budding partnership is already drawing excitement among Blues supporters.

According to Pedro, he wasn’t sure how their dynamic would work when he first joined.

“Cole is a superstar,” he says. “When I came to Chelsea I was a little bit scared about how he was going to react, because I was the main guy at Brighton.”

Pedro revealed he was conscious of stepping into a dressing room where Palmer had already cemented himself as a key figure. But instead of rivalry, he made a point to build trust and collaboration with his new teammate.

“I knew Chelsea would be different. I said: ‘Cole, I’m here to help you’.”

This open approach has quickly paid off. The two attackers are finding ways to complement each other’s strengths, building an understanding that could prove decisive for Chelsea’s ambitions this season.

“He knows I can help him, and I know he can help me,” Pedro added.

“We have a good chemistry on the pitch; I think he feels the same. Together, we can win more titles for Chelsea.”

Chelsea fans will be thrilled to hear these words. With Palmer’s creativity and Pedro’s dynamism, the Blues have the potential to develop one of the most dangerous attacking partnerships in the Premier League.

The chemistry is still young, but if Pedro’s words are anything to go by, Chelsea might just have found a new duo to lead them back to glory.
