Chelsea’s summer signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United continues to spark debate, with former England midfielder Paul Scholes throwing his weight firmly behind the young winger.

The Blues paid £40m to secure Garnacho’s signature, handing the 21-year-old Argentina international a long-term contract running until 2032.

After making 144 appearances for United, scoring 26 goals and providing 22 assists, Garnacho arrives at Stamford Bridge with both proven pedigree and massive potential.

Paul Scholes has backed Alejandro Garnacho to shine for Chelsea after leaving Manchester United.

“I think he (Alejandro Garnacho) will be good for you,” Scholes said.

During The Overlap Fan Debate, discussions around Garnacho’s attitude took centre stage. Jennings expressed concern about the winger’s temperament before another supporter bluntly shouted out:
“He’s a k**b!”

Scholes, however, was quick to defend Garnacho, putting the comment into perspective: “There’s a lot of k**bs now – it doesn’t mean they’re not going to be good at football.”

The Manchester United legend even cheekily added:
“I don’t think he will be disruptive (in the Chelsea squad). I hope he is! But I don’t think he will.”

Scholes’ remarks capture the essence of Garnacho’s arrival at Chelsea — a player full of flair, confidence, and a touch of attitude, but also one with the ability to transform games. While questions remain about how he will fit into Enzo Maresca’s setup, the belief among some pundits is clear: Chelsea have signed a player who can light up Stamford Bridge for years to come.

With his long contract, attacking instinct, and hunger to prove himself away from Old Trafford, Garnacho now has the perfect platform to shine in blue — and Scholes is backing him to do exactly that.
