Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has sealed a move to Bayern Munich. The Senegal international joins the German giants on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy in 2026.

As part of the deal, Bayern Munich will pay a €16.5 million loan fee — slightly higher than the initially discussed €15 million — while the obligation to buy clause was inserted at Chelsea’s request.

Jackson, who arrived from Villarreal in June 2023, scored 17 goals in 44 appearances during his debut season in West London. Despite flashes of brilliance, inconsistency in front of goal often left fans divided about his long-term future.

Upon being unveiled by Bayern, Jackson expressed his delight at the new challenge ahead:
“I’m really happy to now be part of this great club. Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. Everyone knows the names of the legends who’ve played here and knows that this club stands for the greatest success. I’ve got big goals and dreams here and will give my all to help Bayern win further titles.”

His agent, Diomansy Kamara, also paid tribute to Chelsea for their role in Jackson’s development: “We’d like to thank Chelsea Football Club for their confidence in Jackson and for all he has experienced and learnt during his time at Stamford Bridge. No regrets: every step has counted in his progression and helped shape the player and man he is today.

“We are deeply grateful to the supporters, his teammates and all the staff.

“A new adventure begins today. Jackson is now fully focused on Bayern, with the will to give their best and continue to grow at the highest level.”

For Chelsea fans, Jackson’s departure marks another chapter in the club’s rebuilding process under Enzo Maresca. While many will remember his tireless energy and flashes of potential, his move to Bayern underlines the high regard he is still held in across Europe.

Whether Jackson becomes another star to thrive in the Bundesliga remains to be seen.
