It looks like Joao Félix’s time as a Chelsea player is finally coming to an end.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are in advanced negotiations with Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr over the permanent transfer of the Portuguese star.

The Saudi Pro League side, who finished third last season, have reportedly tabled an offer of over £40 million to secure Félix’s signature. Journalist Ben Jacobs adds that Al-Nassr have outbid Benfica, the club where Félix made his name, making them the clear frontrunners in the race.

If all goes according to plan, the final details will be discussed and wrapped up within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Should the move be completed, Félix will be reunited with Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, creating an all-Portuguese attacking partnership in Riyadh. He would also become Al-Nassr’s first foreign signing of the current transfer window, signalling their intent to strengthen the squad for another title push.

Félix spent half of last season on loan at AC Milan, where he managed 3 goals in 21 appearances. While he showed flashes of quality, inconsistency and fitness issues continued to overshadow his once-glittering potential.

For Chelsea, this move represents another step in trimming the squad and generating funds for Enzo Maresca’s rebuild. Félix was never a major part of the Italian coach’s plans, and a £40m sale would be seen as good business for the club.
