Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly weighing up a world-record €250m bid for Chelsea forward Cole Palmer.
The two clubs recently faced each other in the Club World Cup final in the United States, where the 23-year-old Palmer scored twice in Chelsea’s dominant 3-0 win over the French champions. His performance is said to have sparked huge interest from PSG’s decision-makers.
Palmer has enjoyed a meteoric rise since leaving Manchester City, delivering an outstanding debut Premier League season for Chelsea with 22 goals and 11 assists, before adding 24 league goal involvements last term. At times, he has carried Chelsea in a way that belies his age, making any move to prise him away from Stamford Bridge—where his contract runs until 2033—look almost impossible.
However, PSG are believed to be seriously considering a package worth €250m, according to Fichajes via FourFourTwo. Such a deal would eclipse their 2017 world-record signing of Neymar for €222m.
PSG, fresh from winning their first UEFA Champions League title and adding another £78.4m through the Club World Cup, are not shy about big spending.
Despite the rumoured offer, the report states Chelsea are not considering a sale “under any circumstances,” while Palmer himself is said to be happy at the club.
