It hasn’t gone well for Joao Felix in recent months. The Portugal international struggled at Chelsea before failing to impress on loan with AC Milan last season.
Joao Felix, who is still on the books at Chelsea, has spoken about a possible return to Benfica.
Joao Felix has said he’s open to a return to Benfica and will love to play under Bruno Lage.
He said: “With Bruno Lage being the coach, who I know and who was important for my career, he adds to my decision and I would be very happy about returning to Benfica. And that is probably where I am most inclined.
“I feel that I need to be at home and that is why Benfica is one of the ideas that I have in mind.
“Benfica is my home. One day I will return. I don’t know if it will be now or in a few years. If it is now, I will be happy.
“Everyone knows that Benfica is the club of my heart. One day I will certainly return. I don’t know if it will be now or in the future. I have a few ideas in my head. Either stay in England or return to Benfica.”
