Official: Chelsea announce the signing of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of exciting young winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, with the 20-year-old putting pen to paper on a long-term deal that runs until 2032.

The England Under-21 international arrives at Stamford Bridge after a highly promising spell in Germany, where he accumulated over 100 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund. Gittens gained valuable experience in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League, showcasing his talent on some of the biggest stages in European football.

Originally part of Manchester City’s youth academy, Gittens made the switch to Borussia Dortmund in 2020 and quickly progressed through the ranks. He made his senior debut towards the end of the 2021/22 season and scored his first goal early in the following campaign.

During the 2022/23 season, Gittens featured regularly for Dortmund, scoring three goals in 20 appearances across league, cup, and European competitions. He continued to develop in the 2023/24 season, registering 10 goal contributions in 34 games.

The winger hit new heights in the 2024/25 campaign, contributing 17 goals and assists in all competitions and playing a key role in Dortmund’s journey to the FIFA Club World Cup.

Gittens is known for his pace, flair, and ability to play on both wings, attributes that will strengthen Enzo Maresca’s attacking options heading into the new season.

Chelsea fans will be eager to see how the talented youngster fits into the squad as the Blues continue to invest in youth and potential.
