Joao Pedro made his Chelsea debut in the Club World Cup quarter-final clash against Palmeiras.

The Brazilian forward, who joined Chelsea from Brighton this summer, was handed the No. 20 shirt and made his Blues debut as quickly as possible.

Joao Pedro came on for Liam Delap shortly after the restart.

Joao Pedro made a promising start to his Chelsea career, as he livened up Chelsea’s attack in the 2-1 win over Palmeiras.

Joao Pedro was pleased with his first appearance, saying, “It’s an important win. I was on holiday, so to come on and to play like I did is very satisfying for me.”

He added that playing against his former club would be a unique experience, saying, “It will be nice to see some friends, but I think now I need to focus on Chelsea.

“I need to enjoy the next game and we will see a few friends.”
