Chelsea made a bold move to sign another forward, as the Blues snapped up Joao Pedro from Brighton for a fee that could rise up to £60m.
The Brazilian has brought his intensity to the Chelsea training ground, one that has surprised team captain Reece James.
James gave a verdict on Joao Pedro: “He’s been in one or two sessions so far, but straight away you can see his quality.
“We’re very happy to have him here. I’ve played against him many times and he’s an amazing player and I’m sure he’ll do amazing things for us.
“Playing against him he’s a handful. He’s had me sent off once before, which wasn’t the most enjoyable! But he’s an amazing player. So far he looks good and he looks pretty sharp.”
Joao Pedro is eligible to make his Chelsea debut in the Club World Cup quarter-final against Palmeiras. The 23-year-old isn’t expected to start the game but could enter the second-half.
